Cala Violina: booking, parking and how to get there
The beach that sings under your feet is a few kilometres from Atelier Vella. Here is how to book and how to get there, following the official rules.

- Go to calaviolinascarlino.it and press “Book now”.
- The first time, create an account with email and password.
- Choose the date, the number of people and, if needed, the car park.
- Pay online: tickets arrive by email and are shown on your phone.
- Check everything before confirming: bookings cannot be changed or refunded.
How to get there
From Atelier Vella, on foot or by bike
From Puntone, follow the Costiere trail through the woods: about 6 km from the harbour. Starting from the apartment you don't need a car.
By car, from the Val Martina car park
On the SP 158 delle Collacchie at km 10. Book the car park together with the beach, then walk about 1.8 km.
By bike
Cycling into the Costiere area is free: you only need to book your place on the beach.
Good to know
- There are no lifeguards.
- There is a refreshment point and toilets in the woods.
- There are no bins, so as not to attract wild boar: take your rubbish home.
- The name comes from the quartz grains that “sing” with every step.
- Bring water and comfortable shoes: the trail runs through scrub with little shade in places.

If it's full, or if you have a dog
Cala Martina and Cala Civette are free to access along the same trails. With a dog in summer, head to the dog beaches at Puntone or Follonica.

Do you need to book Cala Violina?
Yes, from 1 June to 30 September entry is capped at 700 people a day and booked online from 72 hours ahead.
How much does it cost?
€1 per person to book. Children aged 1 to 12 book for free, under 1 nothing is needed. The Val Martina car park costs €10 a day.
Can I bring my dog?
Not from 1 June to 30 September, except guide and rescue dogs.
How far do you have to walk?
About 1.8 km from the Val Martina car park, about 6 km from the harbour at Puntone.
Can you cycle there?
Yes, cycling into the Costiere area is free: you only need the beach booking.
